About Troop 44

Boy Scout Troop 44 serves the Johnston Community School District with a Scouting program designed for boys in grades five through twelve. There are approximately forty-eight registered Scouts ranging in age from eleven to seventeen and more than fifty registered adult leaders.
Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church for thirty-five years. The church provides us with a meeting place, storage for our trailers and other equipment as well as ongoing support for our program.
Troop 44 issues a manual each year for prospective new Scouts and parents to view.
We are a very active troop with meetings weekly and outings monthly, as well as week-long camp and a high adventure program during the summer months. We participate in an annual service project as a troop and our Scouts give many hours to community service projects individually.
