Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 44's web site designed to make communication faster and easier for our families. Monthly newsletters, calendars and permission slips are all published here along with a lot of other useful information. Weekly meeting plans are sent to every Scout via email and also posted here.
Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church for 40 years and we meet weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church. We currently have between 50 and 60 registered Scouts and about the same number of adults participating as leaders or committee members.
The site is protected for the benefit of our Scouts. Please use the 'contact us' function if you need more information.

U.S. Grant Pilgrimage, April 24 - 26

Posted on Mar 1 2015 - 9:19am

One of the Scout’s favorite outings is to Galena, IL, for the U.S. Grant Pilgrimage. The town of Galena opens its doors to thousands of Scouts and leaders from all over the Midwest for a weekend of history and lots of Scouting activities. Ulysses ‘Sam’ Grant, the Civil War General and President of the U.S. had a home in Galena and worked in the tannery for his father-in-law for a brief time. The downtown area is historically preserved as a riverboat town and center of lead mining in the area.

Railroad Camporee, May, 2015

Posted on Dec 10 2014 - 8:28am

On May 8 - 10, 2015, Troop 44 has scheduled a trip to Boone for the Railroad Merit Badge Camporee. Because this is a Council event, open to other Councils as well and has been very popular in the past, it is important that we register as a troop very early and the registration process is now open.
