Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church for 35 years and we meet weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church.

For new parents

Each year, on the first outing for new Scouts, we are reminded that new parents, not familiar with the program may have some issues understanding the protocols and learning where to find needed information.

Troop 44 and Pack 244 Friends of Scouting is an organization whose mission is to provide financial support to these two units. The non-profit organization is not a part of either the Troop or Pack, but operates with an Executive Board and a Board of Directors, who meet quarterly.

Polar Bear Points

January 1, 2009, Troop 44 began accumulating Polar Bear points for every degree of temperature below 32 degrees (freezing) camped in tents. Recognition is given at 100, 500 and 1,000 degrees.

Mike Rowe's letter

Mike Rowe is the host of Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch and a spokesman for Ford Motor Company. He is an Eagle Scout from Baltimore, MD.

Uniforms can be a daunting expense for new Scouts. For many years, Troop 44 has had a closet of gently-used Scout uniforming available to those in need.
