Welcome to Troop 44's web site designed to make communication faster and easier for our families. Monthly newsletters, calendars and permission slips are all published here along with a lot of other useful information. Weekly meeting plans are sent to every Scout via email and also posted here.
Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church since 1972 and we meet weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church. We currently have between 20 and 30 registered Scouts and about the same number of adults participating as leaders or committee members.

APRIL OUTING, April 24 - 26, 2026

April 24—26 is the biennial Galena Pilgrimage event for Scouts. We will be tent camping at Swiss Valley, near Dubuque.
2026 is the bicentennial of the town and the theme of this year’s event. Galena is the home of President/General Grant’s wife, Julia, and the town built a home for the family.

February 26 will be a Court of Honor for Troop 44.
Advancement, summer camp 2026 and Philmont, 2027 will be on the agenda.

Next Outing is Red Rock

Message:

March 27 - 29, is the next outing for Troop 44 and the first tent camping of 2026. We can always hope it will be 60F+ but not likely.
Lake Red Rock is the largest lake in Iowa and a winter home to many eagles. We are camping in the Whitebreast area, west of the dam. We have camped here previously, but not in this particular campsite.
