Welcome to Troop 44's web site designed to make communication faster and easier for our families. Monthly newsletters, calendars and permission slips are all published here along with a lot of other useful information. Weekly meeting plans are sent to every Scout via email and also posted here.
Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church since 1972 and we meet weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church. We currently have between 20 and 30 registered Scouts and about the same number of adults participating as leaders or committee members.

Nolan is the current Scribe and in that position, he becomes responsible for emptying the flag drop box each week. 350 flags were destroyed in June and a new collection year has begun.d.

Tonight's Meeting

Tonight, beginning at 5:30 PM, John Kerber will meet Scouts at Ridgedale Cemetery, to place flags on the graves of veterans. This is a service project and Scouts get credit for service hours. Class B uniform is acceptable for this event. Bring your water bottle.

Next Patrol Leaders' Council Meeting, July 11, 2022

The meeting plans for July/August are covered at this meeting. The meeting will take place at St Paul, beginning at 7:00 - 8:00 PM. All youth leaders are expected to attend.

Flag Retirement Ceremony

Well done! 350 flags were destroyed appropriately at the Grimes Public Works in about 90 minutes.
Scouts appeared on Channel 13 News at 10:00 PM. Mayor Dierenfeld was briefly in attendance, along with Councilman Burkhardt and families of the Scouts.

Both garages at St Paul got a new roof today, necessary due to hail damage last fall.
Thanks Ludwig Roofing for a great job twice now!

Changes in Eagle Rank Requirements

Effective July 1, 2022, an additional merit badge will be required to earn the Eagle rank.

Eagle Rank Requirements now read:
Earn a total of 21 merit badges (10 more than required for the Life rank), including these 14 merit badges:
